An Eventful Sunday

Juliet was so good during church today! She was pretty happy during the beginning, cried and fell asleep in the middle, and was playing with us towards the end. After she woke up during Sacrament Meeting she was just playing and smiling on Tim's lap. She's also recently discovered her feet so she likes to pull up her legs and hold her toes for long periods of time. While she was holding her feet one of her socks started to pull off and Juliet pulled on that sock until it finally reached her mouth hahaha. She looked so cute because it looked as if she had pulled her foot all the way to her mouth and was sucking on it!

Tim and I figured that Juliet must be in a good mood after eating her sock so we passed her off to Mckenzie Hampton so she could hold her. About two minutes later Mckenzie whispers to me, "Dude, she is totally pooping on me right now!" When Juliet poops and you are holding her, you can definitely feel it! Well I looked down at Juliet's diaper to make sure she really had pooped and sure enough she had because it was spilling out ALL over Mckenzie's dress! I quickly grabbed another diaper to hold it all in so it didn't get on me and picked her up to get her out of the aisle when Tim reached to take her other sock off so it didn't get poop on it. Well it already had so Tim got a nice handful of poop hahaha. The three of us tried to quickly and somewhat quietly leave the aisle without making too much of a scene. Luckily Mckenzie had a good sense of humor about it and was wearing a dark blue dress :)

First Walk

Yesterday I took Juliet on her first real walk! It was the nicest day outside in a long time so we definitely took advantage of it. Juliet and I decided to walk with Tim to his last class of the day and Whitney and Carter came along. It was so nice outside that we decided to walk all the way across campus and up to the temple.

This picture basically shows how far we went. We live a little past the bottom right corner and then we walked up to where the temple is in the top left corner. Where that field-like area is there is actually a really nice path now.

We were thinking that it was going to take us forever and that Tim and Mark would have to come pick us up after their class. Walking up there actually only took about 15 minutes, so we were able to walk there and back home in like 35 minutes! It really was a workout though! It's a pretty steady hill going up, so both ways were a little challenging with a stroller. I loved being outside and walking around with Juliet, Whitney, and Carter and I just hope it keeps being nice outside!

Smiling baby

Juliet has been smiling like crazy lately! She's just the cutest thing every time she wakes up she's happy and just grinning at me. I love watching her little personality come forth more and more everyday.

Graduation and Baby Blessing Weekend

This is a little late but the weekend of April 10-11 was my graduation and Juliet's baby blessing. I graduated Saturday, April 10th with my Bachelors in Sociology. Woohoo! Sunday the 11th we blessed beautiful Juliet. We were fortunate to have both of our parent's there for the occasion and some of our greatest friends.

Juliet was great during graduation and slept through most of it, but when we took pictures we put her in her adorable little cap and gown that my friend Christie made her. She was so cute! We took more pictures on campus after church because there wasn't such a huge crowd.

The Sunday of Juliet's blessing there were FIVE babies being blessed. It was a really special moment watching Tim bless our baby girl (yes, I watched and didn't close my eyes). And during it, she even spit up on her dress :)

Good Sleeper

Lately Juliet has been taking great naps and sleeping around 4-7 hours during the night. And the best part about it is that she doesn't usually even cry when I put her down! Last night though after having a rough time feeding her and not being able to put her down because she was so tired, she FINALLY fell asleep on our bed. It must've been around 9 ish when she fell asleep and I was planning on waking her up at ten, but instead I just let her sleep her little heart out. When it started nearing midnight I was a little worried that she was going to just sleep through the night on our bed! I didn't want to move her if that was the case so I was planning on battling Tim for the better couch hahaha. But, just as I'm making my plans, I hear my sweet little angel's whimper. I fed her, put her in her own bed, and then she landed back into ours around 5 in the morning :)

Most Embarrassing Moments

So tonight I thought that I had my most embarrassing moment ever, until Tim reminded me of another time where I had completely humiliated myself. I'll let you all decide which is worse.

1. I'm about 8 months pregnant and the girl in the elevator asks me when I'm due. After I tell her February I say, "What about you?" Of course she had to NOT be pregnant! I vowed at that moment that I would never assume that someone was pregnant.

2. Tonight I was writing a talk that I have to give in church about motherhood for Mother's Day. Needing advice, I decide to call my own mother. Since my phone was about dead, I ask Tim for his. I scroll down to "Home" in the contacts list and call it. The woman who answered the phone sounded tired, which surprised me because my mom normally isn't in bed at 9:30. Well instead of calling MY home, I realized that I had called TIM'S house and it's 12:30 in the morning there! I quickly hand the phone over to him while I agonize over my mistake of waking up my in-laws.

Juliet :)

Juliet Maxine McFarlane was born February 20, 2010. She weight 8 lbs 1 oz and was 21 inches long. She is also the most adorable thing I have ever seen :) Now Juliet is almost 11 weeks and she has already accomplished so much! She holds up her head really well (and has for quite awhile now), she smiles and coos at us all the time, she likes to grab things such as Mommy's hair, she can roll from her tummy to her back, and has recently discovered things like her tongue and hands (she can't stop looking at her hands!). I love staying home with her and witnessing all these incredible things that she learns to do day by day.

Finally!

I've finally made a blog! It's been my goal to make one since Tim and I have gotten married and now that I'm a stay at home mom I can hopefully find the time to do it. Many exciting things have been happening in our family lately: We had Juliet Maxine McFarlane February 20th, I graduated from BYU-Idaho with my bachelor's in Sociology, and Tim has gotten two TA jobs this semester while going to school. We are enjoying our time in Rexburg, but we can't wait to see where we are in the future.
